Liz Aggiss broke her Achilles tendon on 4th July 1992.

Cafeteria for a Sit Down Meal was made as a sit down performance in response to the Achilles tendon break. The piece considers the life of the world’s greatest fictitious pianist Stanislaf Bartkoviak. The narrative focusses on an ‘unseen’ narration into which Bartkoviak interjects and performs his impossible piano compositions.

Cafeteria for a Sit Down Meal received a sit-down ovation at its premiere on 6th November 1992 The Zap Brighton.
